A few weeks back, we did an amazing Ennis engagement session at The Telico Gin.

Lauren first found out about me when I photographed her friends Joshua and Mollie’s wedding. Back then Sean wasn’t even in the picture and it’s so cute how she thought to herself “Yup! When it happens – this girl is going to be my photographer!”
This is going to be a moment for tooting my horn! It makes me extremely happy when others let me know how my artwork makes them feel and that they plan for me to part of something years ahead of time! This is literally one reason why I have been able to do this for over a decade.

Sean had just accepted a job opportunity and was just new to Ennis. He met Lauren while swiping right – and when they finally decided to go on their first date, it was love at first sight! You can easily feel the love in the air when you’re with them. The love and respect they have for each other is indescribable!

Lauren told me she wanted their engagement session to be as personal as it could be. She asked if we could do the session close to her home in Ennis. As they were rebuilding her childhood home to be the home they live after they got married. I knew it was going to be so special. She also mentioned one of their neighbors had this beautiful open land that had the most gorgeous sunlight. But I would have never thought I’d also “jump over fences” to get that farmland sunset gorgeousness. Yeap – you heard that right! I literally climbed and jumped over a fence for these two! 😛 But it was very much worth it (even though I almost couldn’t climb back out hahaha!!)

The home was not complete but that was even better. I don’t believe everything in a photo has to be “complete and pretty”. There’s so much more that adds to the beauty and emotions of your session. I asked Lauren and Sean to sit down and tell each other their dreams, desires, plans for the next 10 years. I have no idea what they exchanged – but I’m pretty positive they had a sweet emotional moment together.

We had an amazing session with Lauren and Sean! We ended our evening with some ice cream and amazing conversations shared before I headed back to Dallas. Supposedly, Sean “absolutely hates” photos but he was laughing and making jokes the entire time! I feel like everyone hates photos until they get to hang out with me! 😛
