I’m so excited to finally share those beautiful images from Diana and Dilshan’s wedding! Everything from start to finish was beautiful and I could not be happier to be part of this amazing celebration!
My very good friend, the best wedding planner of DFW, Tiffany called me a while back, “OMG Tara! I just booked an amazing couple, and YOU will be the perfect fit for their wedding!” I know, when Tiffany is this excited to introduce me to a couple, there is a solid reason behind it! Not long after, my phone rang and Diana was on the other end. Her positive energy immediately brightened my day – and I knew now, why Tiffany was so excited!
We maybe spoke longer than an hour, talking through every detail of the day, along with the engagement session and everything else wedding related. I knew right then – I already loved Diana and Dilshan’s energy!
Meeting for the first time for their engagement session, my instincts were not wrong. Diana was running towards me with her beautiful tea-length dress, all just to hug me! I will admit, it makes my heart so happy when couples are as excited as I am to FINALLY meet in person.
To get most formals out of the way sooner, Diana and Dilshan wanted to do a first look before the wedding ceremony. This allows for both parties do take as many photos as possible and not have to play hide&seek, along with sharing the excitement as a couple. 🙂
D’vine Grace Vineyard has a beautiful indoor chapel with amazing natural light, that will allow your photographers to capture beautiful imagery during your ceremony.
The ceremony was full of happy tears, lots of laughter and giggles. I’m always thankful for my waterproof Lancôme Hypnôse Drama mascara that lets me cry fearlessly! Yes, I totally just implied a product recommendation! 🙂
One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony was when Diana’s father Chris sang opera for them.
The beautiful Korean Pyebaek Ceremony was designed by The PN Events.
Pyebaek is a Korean wedding tradition that is usually held a few days after the official ceremony, with only the family members present. In Diana and Dilshan’s case, we did this right before the wedding reception.
Per tradition, the newlyweds will perform a deep bow that begins standing and ends with the couple pressing their foreheads to their hands kneeling on the floor. The bride will present the groom’s parents with cheongju and then the groom will present the bride’s parents with cheongju. Then the parents will give their word of wisdom/advice to the newlyweds, followed by the parents throwing a handful of jujubes (Korean dates) and chesnuts to the couple, to catch with their skirts. Jujubes symbolize children – Diana and Dilshan is going to form a football team (they said this, not me! hahaha!).
After the Korean ceremony, Diana and Dilshan’s getaway car had arrived so we went outside to take some stunning photos with it. Premier Wedding Cars provides luxury vehicles for couples who want to drive away from their reception in comfort and style. Make sure to check out their inventory if you’re considering one for yourself! 😉
Just as we were headed back inside, it starting drizzling rain. Diana earlier had asked me if it was possible to take a couple of photos with her parents’ red umbrella – IF it rained – as it was the same umbrella her parents used on their wedding day when it rained…
It was her wish to come true. We literally had SECONDS to run outside and do this photo without getting soaking wet – and so we did! I only have 3 shots from this set (to assure the photo is in focus) and it all happened within 10 seconds hahaha! 🙂
And then we continued their reception as usual, with the grand entrance followed by their first dance, then the parent dances, toasts, and cake cutting.
When couples are up for it, I love sneaking them away from the party for a few moments of quiet and night photos. This allows them to soak in a few private moments for themselves all while allowing me capture some breathtaking photos <3
We finalized Diana and Dilshan’s night with a sparkler exit brought together by the most amazing and fun crowd.
Thank you so much, Diana and Dilshan! From start to finish, your wedding day was amazing to photograph! I couldn’t be more thankful for amazing clients like yourself and I can’t wait to see what life has for you in stores <3
Lots of hugs,
Tara+Nick
