What are the requirements for an Affirm account?

Applicant must be 18+ years old (19+ in Alabama or as a ward of the state in Nebraska).
Live outside of Iowa (IA) or West Virginia (WV).
Have a valid U.S. or APO/FPO/DPO home address.
Provide a U.S. mobile or VoIP number for SMS verifications (the account must be in your name).
Share your full name, email, birthdate, and the last 4 digits of your SSN to verify your identity.

Is my personal information secure with Affirm?
Yes, protecting your personal information is very important to Affirm. Affirm encrypts sensitive data including SSN. Affirm also maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information. Affirm does not sell or rent your information to anyone. Even I will not have this information - everything is between you and Affirm and Affirm is a trusted institute I also use for my personal and business expenses.

Can I pay off my purchase early?
Yes! There's no penalty for paying off your loan.

Does Affirm perform a credit check?
Yes, but checking your eligibility will not affect your credit score. When you first create an Affirm account, Affirm performs a 'soft' credit check to help verify your identity and determine your eligibility for financing. This 'soft' credit check will not affect your credit score.
