Happy Monday y’all! While it’s a beautiful day outside, I want to make your day even better with this gorgeous Perot Museum wedding!
Let me set the scene: glorious natural light coupled with the awe-inspiring architecture of Dallas’ renowned Perot Museum of Nature and Science and a picture-perfect couple who couldn’t take their eyes off each other on a warm Fall evening this October. That was Rachel and Mike’s wedding day.
In all its brilliance, The Perot was the backdrop as Rachel and Mike exchanged vows. They set the bar high for elegant and classy weddings hereafter. When Rachel and Mike booked me, I literally bought them a set of dinosaur stamps to use for their lay flat detail photos. The thought did not disappoint! 🙂
While Rachel got dolled up and ready with her bridesmaids at The W Hotel, popping champagne and celebrating what was about to take place, Mike also prepared to see his bride for the first time during an intimate first look before the ceremony. I can say it was one of the most emotional first looks and private vow exchange to date – I wish I could fit all the photos here in this blog from that moment, but the energy exchange between these two was beautiful. Not to mention – we photographers/videographers LOVE when happy tears fall – they always turn out to be the sweetest moments photographed.
Most of my couples are a ball of nerves on their big day, but not this couple. While lots of anticipation and excitement are typical, the two lovebirds kept their focus on each other and managed to stay grounded amid all the prep and pre-wedding chaos. I’m actually not sure I’ve ever seen a couple more ready to do the damn thing.
Do you know that moment… When you lock eyes with your person from across a crowded room and peace and relief wash over you? I imagine those were some of the feels being felt during those magical few moments. You’ll have to see for yourself.
Rachel and Mike wanted to do their family formals and wedding party photos in Downtown Dallas, at the Arts District. It was the BEST decision. We got a ton of beautiful photos with amazing lighting!
From the sweet words of the Beetles’ Here Comes the Sun, as Rachel walked down the aisle, to Etta James’ timeless classic, At Last, while the two danced their first married dance- the space was filled with romance and joy. If you’d have been there, you’d have thought there was no one else in the room but them. The love was real, y’all.
As a Dallas wedding photographer, I’ve photographed countless weddings and proposals, met tons of people in all my years of shooting weddings for over a decade. It never ceases to amaze me how a couple can remain so focused on each other and create moments of magic in a fast-paced and busy environment such as their wedding day.
Some say these events (especially the reception) tend to be more for the wedding guests, since they’re often filled with entertainment and some bomb food and drinks…or if you’re lucky to be friends with Rachel and Mike, a Pop-A-Shot for all the fun!
Still, the newlyweds managed to steal a few kisses and engage with their friends and fam.

Rachel and Mike’s love is sweet and intentional. They’re a couple who can find and savor the few small intimate moments of a hectic wedding day. They have such a bright future ahead of them!
If you ask Rachel, it definitely does help that she gets to grab Mike’s hiney more often now that they’re legal *wink wink*
Cheers to Rachel + Mike! May you continue to make time for each other through all the ups and downs of this crazy life! Thank you for inviting my team and me to be a part of your beautiful wedding day!
