Oh, you are going to LOVE April and Nathan’s engagement session at the State Fair of Texas!!
It seems April and Nathan have their finest moments in fascinating places. They met at Saint Louis Zoo, surrounded by sea lions. They had their first date at a sculpture park. Then, she said, “I love you,” for the first time at a drag show.
Can you see a pattern there? So when it came to their engagement photoshoot, it had to be somewhere epic. They wanted to do their session at the Texas State Fair, and I was all in for shooting there. My inner child had the camera bag packed days before the shoot. When we got to the Lone Star Boulevard, it was filled with people enjoying the last days of the fair, which added to the high-energy atmosphere, and we got some fantastic photos.
April and Nathan rode amusement rides, got competitive with silly games, and ate corn dogs. Not your ordinary kind of photoshoot, so I was in my element, as you can imagine. I love photographing anything different, quirky, wacky, cool, or out of the ordinary. Bright colors are also my thing, so the fair was the location I didn’t know I needed to shoot at. While I always have many suggestions for photoshoot locations in Texas, I also love it when clients know where they want to go. It usually ends up being somewhere I haven’t shot before, which always leads to inspirational and creative moments.
Nathan was so excited to win – until he was handed a poop hat as a prize hahaha :))
Sooooooooooo… I think Nathan tried to write “2022” with mustard? I’m not entirely sure – but we sure got a kick out of their “mustard writing skills” April’s steady hand won this one! Haha! 🙂
The upbeat noisy fair was the perfect place for April and Nathan’s engagement shoot. The photos reflect their fun-loving relationship and not-too-serious style. April and Nathan are a gorgeous couple who have fun times together everywhere they go. As I was already booked up for their wedding date, I connected them with my best friend Amy Zumwalt to do their wedding photos. Their Crescent Court wedding is going to be AMAZING and I can’t wait to see what magic Amy will create <3
