I’m so excited to share this wedding designed by the fabulous Shay McElroy of The Art of Weddings DFW, at The Castle at Rockwall. Shay introduced me to Meiyu and Riley while were looking for a Dallas wedding photographer to photograph their celebration. We got together at my Dallas studio for drinks and booked with them on the spot.
They wanted a fairy tale wedding and The Castle was the perfect spot for that. Shay literally outdid herself – I will tell you this: I’ve photographed MANY events at The Castle at Rockwall – but I NEVER saw the venue this dressed up and pretty!
Meiyu and Riley opted-in to do a first look. I wanted to make sure they got some amazing couples portraits before the sunset which was right before their ceremony.
The back courtyard, which also happened to be the patio for both Riley and Meiyu’s getting ready room, was the perfect spot for this.
I love photographing weddings as we always get to a VIP seat for behind the scenes. Nobody ever sees those sweet reactions until I post photos or share their galleries with my couples, so they can share with family and friends. Those moments hold a special place in my heart.
As the guests started arriving, we had Riley and Meiyu go back to their rooms until the ceremony start time. Of course, we had to “cheers!” for their happy day! 🙂
