Dallas Wedding Photographer

One of the best parts of being a Dallas wedding photographer is getting to capture once-in-a-lifetime moments between couples who are just starting their lives together. Hearing their stories, getting to know them closer, and being able to give them memories they can cherish for a lifetime is just the added bonus.

I absolutely loved all the colors from this wedding. Despite the variety of colors, everything matched perfectly!

Vanessa and Shawn’s meeting story is not usual either! Being a wedding photographer, I hear a lot of them lol! Nessa was out with her friends, and she was craving some Whataburger. They went through the drive-thru, and out of nowhere, this sneaky spider crawled on Nessa and got her all PANICKED. She accidentally pulled her feet off the breaks and hit the gas – and BAM! She hit the truck that was in line in front of her. Now I can totally get that panic because I have a phobia for anything with more than four legs! When both drivers got out of their vehicles to discuss the “accident,” Shawn was blinded by Nessa’s beauty, and he was not mad at her at all! They exchanged numbers “for insurance purposes” (lol!!), and the rest is history.

The couple wanted a romantic and whimsical wedding. Everything – from Vanessa’s flower crown to the food and centerpieces – was pure magic.

Sweet Shawn sent Nessa a little gift for her to wear on their wedding day, as well as writing her sweet notes both on the box of the necklace and under her shoes. It was quite the challenge to sneak the shoes out of the room, and then bring them back without Nessa noticing, but we nailed it as teamwork with the videographers – hah!

Like any other bride, Vanessa was a bundle of nerves before the ceremony. All of those fears and worries faded away as soon as she saw Shawn during their first look before their ceremony. Vanessa and Shawn chose to exchange private vows during their first look. It was a special moment shared by the only two people who mattered on that day and as a wedding photographer, I always being able to witness those intimate moments nobody else does.
Shawn’s private vows moved Vanessa to tears, but she had him beat with the vows for the ceremony.

One of the most unexpected and sweet moments for Vanessa was having her big brother Danny show up, dressed in traditional garb, to walk his little sister down the aisle.

Once the ceremony was complete, everyone headed to the dancefloor. The couple shared their first dance with Ruelle’s I Get to Love You, which set the tone for the evening.

They may not have practiced their first dance, but they sang to each other. It was such a sweet moment, and it’s these little moments that make weddings so special. Sure, we love the flowers, the food, and the cake. Still, it’s the experience, the laughter and the time spent together creating memories that really matter.

The couple ended the evening on cloud nine and jetted off in a Rolls Royce Ghost. So, where did they end up? At Whataburger – exactly where they met.

I had so much fun with Vanessa and Shawn on their big day. Being able to share these memories is why I love being a DFW wedding photographer.
