Being a wedding and portrait photographer, I get to meet amazing people. I’m so happy to introduce you to Kimberly and Suselina!

First dates are often awkward – it’s where you “impress” that new person you just met. But the chemistry between Kimberly and Suselina didn’t need any impressing – it was undeniably love at first sight! They have already been talking online for a while. Kimberly finally had it and decided to finish her family visit trip in Florida early and come back home to Texas with the sole purpose of meeting Suselina in person. Their first meeting started at Kimberly’s apartment garage, continued over lunch, and ended with drinks.

A few days later, on October 1, 2018, during their first official date, Suselina asked Kimberly to be her girlfriend. The rest is history!

They decided to build their life together and get married while celebrating their first year anniversary on October 1, 2019, at Nick and Sam’s – so here we are!

I always joke about how my memory is not so strong, and this is something we have in common with Suse! It was coincidental that she had asked Kimberly to be her girlfriend on “the first of October,” so after they decided to build a life together a year later – “the first of the month” became kind of became a thing for them. 🙂 (There’s a reason I’m giving y’all this information – it’ll come in handy!)

Suselina had mentioned during their trip to Marfa that she wanted a particular coaster set. As Kimberly wanted to propose in a unique way, she started working on a completely handmade coaster set; totally rolled out the clay with a pencil, cut the shape with a cookie cutter, and baked them. She then hand drew on the five with “drinks on me” – the sixth one was “the question.” She was going to pop the question to Suselina on November 1, 2019.

Of course, life got busy, and the coaster set wasn’t complete. She wanted to propose on November 1, 2019 – their “first of the month” day – but the day was almost over! With that panic, just about 15 minutes before November 2, 2019 – Kimberly scrambled to finish the last coaster, “Will you marry me?”, woke up Suselina in the middle of her sleep (LOL!) and proposed to her with her ring resting on the most meaningful coaster. Oh – and she said yes! DUH! And around two weeks later, Suselina caught Kimberly off-guard and proposed to her. <3

Last week we finally got to meet with these two lovebirds in person, and we had a great time together! I can’t help but point out their amazingly chic style! Like… They rocked some colors!!!

Suselina, Kimberly – I’m so happy you ladies found me and I will be celebrating your union! I really can’t wait to watch you two say I do and spend some more time with y’all! It’s been truly my honor to be part of your wedding journey!

KIMBERLY AND SUSELINA ARE ALMOST MARRIED Y’ALL!!!!!
