I’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions I get from folks booking portraits—whether it's celebrating a graduation, documenting your growing family, marking an anniversary, or just capturing your love as it is right now. These responses are a great starting point, but every story is different. What should we wear for our portrait session?

Think coordinated, not matching. Neutrals, earth tones, layers, and textures photograph beautifully. Avoid neon, logos, or anything you'll regret in 10 years. Most importantly? Wear what feels like you. If you're comfy, you'll look amazing. Need help picking outfits? I got you—send me pics and I’ll help you decide.

How far in advance should we book our session?

The sooner, the better, as I limit the number of bookings I take per month. I recommend booking 4–6 weeks out. But hey, if you’re last-minute and I’ve got space, I’m not above a little spontaneous magic.

What locations do you recommend for our shoot?

I’ve got a list of go-to spots all around Dallas—nature trails, skyline views, hidden gems... You name it. But if you’ve got a place that means something to you? Even better. I’m down to make your vision happen.

How long does a typical portrait session last?

Most sessions last between 1 hour and 90 minutes. That gives us time to warm up, get into our groove, and capture a full set of gorgeous images without rushing. Do you have a big family or want outfit changes? We can go longer. I'm flexible.

Can we include pets or props in our photos?

Umm, yes, please!! Bring your fur babies, your grandma’s quilt, your lightsabers—whatever tells your story. Just give me a heads-up so I can plan accordingly (and pack treats if your pup’s joining).

What if the weather doesn't cooperate on our scheduled day?

Texas weather? A whole drama series. If it looks like it’ll pour or be miserable, I’ll reach out and we’ll reschedule—easy peasy. Your comfort (and your hair) matter more than powering through in a thunderstorm.

How should we prepare our children for the session?

Snacks, naps, and zero pressure. Kids are unpredictable, and that’s totally okay—I roll with it. Let them be themselves, and I’ll capture the real magic. Bonus tip: bring their favorite toy or bribe (no shame here).

Do you provide guidance on posing during the session?

Always. Most of my clients say, “We’re so awkward!” and then leave feeling like models. I’ll guide you into natural movements that feel like you, nothing stiff or cringey. We’ll keep it chill and fun.

How many images will we receive, and when?

You’ll get your gallery in 2–3 weeks (or faster, if I’m ahead of schedule). The number of photos depends on your session length, but I prioritize quality over quantity. You'll have the option to purchase the full gallery or select just the ones you love the most.

Can we order prints or albums through you?

Hell yes—and they’re stunning. I work with a pro lab for prints and albums that’ll last for generations. You can order straight from your gallery, or let me help design something custom.

Do you offer retouching services?

All final images get my signature edits—color, lighting, gentle skin retouching if needed. I don’t do heavy, unrealistic retouching, though. You’ll still look like you, just the best-lit, most glowing version of yourself.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Life happens. If you need to reschedule, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance, and we’ll adjust your date accordingly. Your retainer is non-refundable, but it is transferable to another session within the same year. I’ll always work with you to the best of my ability.
