A truly dynamic duo…
This isn’t exactly the origin story of a superhero with cloning abilities- hate to break it to you. But it is the story of two superhero-esque men (thanks Crossfit), both named Lance, who fell in love and gave me the honor of photographing their equally incredible wedding this past Spring.
So, there aren’t any crazy fight scenes or supernatural phenomena to discuss, but I personally think that uninhibited, I finally found my soul’s mate, LOVE deserves its flowers because, in this space, love wins. Always.
I consider myself so lucky to be able to witness all those sweet little moments nobody else gets to witness. It’s like having a VIP BTS pass to a couple’s world, where love speaks through eyes, hugs, and quiet but meaningful moments.
There’s this old saying that opposites attract and that the best pairs are made up of individuals who complement and balance one another out. For the sake of that theory, I think Lance and Lance live up to the hype pretty accurately. How else do you describe a lover of movies falling in love with a man who can’t make it through the 9 o’clock news?
All jokes aside, being the visual storyteller that I am, there simply isn’t much to say in the way of trying to explain how special this couple and their captivating romance are.
And their Spring-time, downtown Austin wedding? Top of the line meets fire AF. Enough said.
Part of what made this celebration so special was the fact that Lance and Lance decided early on to do away with tradition for the sake of tradition. Instead, they made this day about each other and selectively threw the raddest party for friends and family. How liberating, amiright?
I take pride in my work, and it’s taken me years of fine-tuning my technique and eye, but Lance and Lance made my job easy with the venue and time of day they chose to hold their wedding. You know I’m a sucker for golden hour lighting, and that coupled with the intimacy of all their small moments, made for a very romantic atmosphere. A tear or two may or may not have been shed 😏.
Watching the Lances go from newly engaged to newly married has been so much fun. The journey of finding love is so extraordinary to witness and I consider myself the luckiest Dallas wedding photographer because the couples I work with are simply the best!
A round of “cheers to the newlyweds” shots, followed by instant regrets haha 🙂
There was no “seating setup” just a lounge vibe, lots of dancing, good food, and too much laughter and The Lances were celebrated in the coziest setting for a wedding.
Lance…and Lance, thanks for bringing me along for the ride and trusting me to capture the most important day of your lives. Also kudos to you for putting up with my late-night downtown Austin night photography crap hahaha! Seriously – your enthusiasm made my day and I’m so happy I get to work with such badass couples like yourself!
I wish you guys everything good in the world.
Cheers to forever!
