Y’all are in for a treat tonight! I’ve had some of my clients wonder how they can downsize and do their wedding at home with COVID-19 still going around… This blog post is your answer, your intimate home wedding inspiration!

Sam and Alec pulled it off so gorgeously – you’re going to fall in with their backyard wedding! I’m here for it!! <3

Sam found me through Google (love ya Google!!) and messaged me on IG after looking me up and falling in love with my work. Meeting in the midst of a pandemic, we decided to do our first meeting via Zoom with some wine in our pj’s! It’s always a pleasure to get to know my couples better, chat with them about life, goals, accomplishments, and just share some wholesome vibes. A few weeks later we got to meet in person for their engagement session and getting to spend some good time with them was amazing.

When we got to Alec’s mom’s house, nobody was even ready and there were a handful of family members. Being a wedding photographer for over a decade, I’m so used to having crowded weddings but this whole “intimate backyard wedding” trend is growing on me FAST.

While I did Samantha’s details, the ladies drank some champagne and toasted for Sam and Alec’s happiness.

Just so they didn’t have to play hide and seek in the house, Sam and Alec decided to do a first look and Alec’s reaction was everything!!

I have to give props to Nancy and beautiful her backyard is. Adding a floral arc made everything look complete and it was the perfect scenery for some portraits.

Before the rest of the family arrived, Sam gave her gift to Alec for their wedding day.

And then Alec gave Silas his gift.

The beautiful arch was done by Dr. Delphinium, one of the best florist of Dallas.

The gorgeous cake was done by one of my favorites, Elizabeth Rowe aka The London Baker.

Setting the ceremony for around sunset was a great call as the light faded away, leaving a romantic feel in the air.

Of course we had to do some twilight portraits once the sun went down! <3

Then we came back home for their first dance and cake cutting.

That was one yummy cake hahaha!

While some people believe a small backyard wedding won’t be fun – Sam and Alec proved it all the way wrong! We not only had so much fun but were able create some gorgeous portraits for them to cherish for a lifetime!

Sam and Alec! I’m so happy we got to be part of your wedding day and I’m so happy I got myself a new pair of friends. I can’t wait for this whole pandemic to be over so we can have many double dates and game nights!
