These are the questions I get asked the most. Read what's useful, skip what isn't, and bring the rest to our call.
I've been documenting proposals since 2007, and I've seen just about everything. The ones that go perfectly according to plan, the ones that don't, and the ones that turn into something even better than expected. That experience means I know how to anticipate what's coming, stay out of the way until it matters, and handle anything unexpected without missing a beat.
Depends on the collection. My most popular collection (Short & Sweet) covers a 30-minute window, which is plenty for the proposal moment plus a quick portrait session right after. Signature covers a full hour, and Premium covers up to 4 hours for couples who want every part of the day documented (the build-up, the proposal, the celebration after, the whole thing). Full breakdown lives on the investment page.
Once they say yes (which they will), I'll approach and introduce myself. From there, we transition into a short portrait session to capture you both in your post-yes glow. It's a brilliant time for photos honestly, you're both running on pure adrenaline and joy, and it shows up in every single image.
For most proposal sessions, I aim for same-day or next-day delivery, no expedited fee, no special request needed. I know how badly you'll want to share the news and relive the moment, and unless I have another booking immediately after, I'll get them to you fast.
My standard delivery window is 2-4 weeks, which is what's in the contract as my safety net, but in practice you'll usually have your gallery much sooner. Either way, you'll get a few highlights first so you can share immediately, and the full edited gallery follows.
Yes, and this is honestly half the fun. I know Dallas inside and out, plus a lot of destination spots, and I have a running list of locations that photograph beautifully without putting you in the middle of a crowd. We'll talk through what kind of vibe you want (intimate, dramatic, classic, unexpected) and I'll suggest options that fit.
If you have a specific location in mind that's meaningful to the two of you, even better. We can scout it together to figure out the best angles and timing for light.
We'll build a detailed timeline together before the day, with backup options baked in. I'll get there early to scout positioning and make sure I'm set up before you arrive. For coordination on the day, we can use whatever works for you, a text, a signal, live location sharing through iMessage or WhatsApp. Whatever keeps you focused on your partner instead of looking for me.
We'll plan for weather contingencies from the start and have alternative locations ready. If the weather pivots on us, we can move to an equally beautiful indoor location or reschedule without additional fees. Dallas weather is dramatic. We will figure it out.
I'm pretty good at disappearing into a scene. Telephoto lens from a distance, a fake tourist asking for directions, a fellow diner minding my own business, an architecture photographer who is definitely not watching you two. Whatever the situation calls for, I'll figure it out. And if all else fails, I start a very animated phone call in Turkish with lots of hand gestures, looking around like I'm completely lost. Nobody will ever suspect a thing.
My proposal collections start at $600 for the Short & Sweet (30-minute) session and go up from there based on coverage time and what's included. Full breakdown on the investment page.
For Collection II (Signature) and Collection III (Short & Sweet), full payment and a signed contract are required at the time of booking.
For Collection I (Premium), since it covers a longer day with more moving pieces, you can book with a $1,000 non-refundable booking fee plus a signed contract, and split the remaining balance into two payments before your session date.
Payment plans are only available for Collection I (Premium), where you put down a $1,000 booking fee and split the rest into two payments. Collections II and III are paid in full at the time of booking because of how quickly they tend to happen (and how fast small proposal sessions move through my calendar).
Yes, always. I bring backup cameras, backup lenses, extra batteries, and extra memory cards to every session. On top of that, I shoot to dual memory cards in-camera so every photo is being written to two cards at once. I do everything I possibly can to make sure your proposal is captured beautifully and safely.
Always. I take the surprise seriously and won't post, tag, or share anything until you give me the green light. Your moment is yours to announce on your own timeline. When you're ready to share, I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines.
If your question isn't here, that's a good sign. It probably deserves a real conversation, not a paragraph. Let's chat.
