Love is in the air at this Dallas Arboretum engagement session!
I’m thrilled to share the heartwarming engagement photos of Caitlyn at the Dallas Arboretum. As an engagement photographer, there’s nothing more rewarding than capturing my couples’ genuine love and unique stories. This particular session is for the books, filled with laughter, love, and the enchanting backdrop of one of Dallas’ most picturesque locations – even though 90% of the gardens were closed due to fallen tree branches and mudslides from the previous night’s storm.
How they met
Caitlyn and Yosef met in the most modern way possible—through a dating app! Working night shifts in healthcare, Caitlyn connected with Yosef and planned their first date at Company Cafe. After Caitlyn got off work and before Yosef headed to his job, they shared a whole pot of coffee and endless conversation. That morning was just the beginning of their beautiful journey together.
Their first date
Their first date was a blend of hearty laughs, deep conversations, and mutual interests in travel, fitness, and family. It was so memorable that they planned their next date for Valentine’s Day, the next time Caitlyn was off work. The sparks that flew during that initial pot of coffee set the foundation for a love story that continues to flourish.
When they knew, they were the one
For Caitlyn, the moment of realization came during a long drive back to Dallas from Indiana. Yosef had flown to Indiana, met Caitlyn’s entire family, and accompanied her on the 14-hour journey back. Their deep connection was solidified during that trip, where they planned a family trip to Ireland, affirming their bond and their future together.
How they proposed
Oh, the proposal! It’s a story filled with travel mishaps, stress, and a moment of pure joy. Despite flight delays, unexpected fines, and exhaustion, Yosef chose the scenic Konigsee Lake to pop the question. Amid snot, tears, and the sheer beauty of the moment, Caitlyn said yes. They celebrated the day with a hike, cow photos, liters of beer, and schnitzel, sealing the memory in true Bavarian style.
When asked about their wedding day, Caitlyn and Yosef envision a celebration focused on family, warmth, and love. Their January wedding promises to be a cozy affair, filled with good music, drinks, and the joyous union of their two families.
The Dallas Arboretum provided the perfect setting for Caitlyn and Yosef’s engagement photos. With its lush gardens and serene atmosphere, the Arboretum offered a beautiful canvas to capture their love. Despite the fact that 90% of the gardens were closed off with caution tapes due to fallen tree branches, mudslides, and damage from the previous night’s storm, we made the most of the available areas. Even though most of the backdrops I usually use weren’t accessible, we still managed to capture stunning photos that radiate Caitlyn and Yosef’s joy and connection, from candid laughs to tender moments, making this session truly special.
As a wedding and engagement photographer, I always recommend the Dallas Arboretum for its diverse scenery and magical ambiance. The Arboretum’s beautiful landscapes provide endless opportunities for stunning photos. Whether walking through the vibrant gardens or posing by the tranquil waters, every spot is picture-perfect. Despite the unforeseen closures during Caitlyn and Yosef’s session, the Arboretum still provided an enchanting backdrop highlighting their love story beautifully.
