Stonecrest Venue Wedding: Kaitlyn + Mia

If you’re looking for a beautiful queer wedding that’s sure to inspire and make you laugh, look no further than Kaitlyn and Mia’s big day! This couple had it all: love, laughter, and plenty of happy tears.

Kaitlyn and Mia came to see me once they returned to Dallas for their wedding a few days later. It’s always wonderful to hang out with my couples and catch up on the latest happenings in our lives. Adulting sucks, and with Kaitlyn’s exams, Mia’s schedule, and my busy season, we didn’t get to keep in touch from the time of their booking until the wedding. It was so nice to finally have a few hours to sit down and talk about life. This was also the perfect excuse to get their lay-flat detail photos out of the way so I didn’t have to haul my prop luggage on the wedding day, lol!

For Mia, the most memorable moment came when Kaitlyn surprised her with a book of memories she had been working on for years. The book brought tears to Mia’s eyes and filled her heart with joy. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn’s favorite part of the day was their last dance, when they felt like they were truly alone together.

One of the day’s biggest surprises was their flower girl, who turned out to be an absolute pro at her job. She was so adorable that she had everyone cheering and laughing! But that was just the beginning of the unexpected moments that made their day special.

Of course, no wedding is complete without great music. Kaitlyn and Mia walked down the aisle to a beautiful violin cover of Adelle’s “Easy on Me” by Daniel Jang. Their first dance was to Frank Ocean’s “Moon River.”

When planning their wedding, Kaitlyn and Mia had some great advice for other couples. They said to focus on what you want as a couple and not worry about accommodating every guest. They also advised not to procrastinate but not to panic either. Most importantly, they said to have fun and celebrate with each other!

The couple’s wedding inspiration was a modern lodge mixed with BoHo vibes. They wanted non-traditional flowers like wildflowers and simple greenery, and they found inspiration on Etsy and Pinterest. They also had some fun details like a Polaroid guest book and Mexican candy favors.

Kaitlyn and Mia’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love and pride. They were excited to be able to call each other “wife” and to spend the rest of their lives together. It was a day filled with surprises, laughter, and love, and it’s sure to inspire other queer couples to plan their weddings.
